When readers noticed the pattern-generic phrasing, surface-level insights, obvious AI tells-they called it out on social media. The disclosure technically existed, but felt deceptive. The authenticity backlash isn't going away. diVine's AI ban resonated because audiences are tired of synthetic slop flooding their feeds. OpenAI's Sora app generated immediate criticism for creating what users called "an RL-optimized slop feed"-even from OpenAI's own CEO. The pattern is clear: audiences want to know when they're engaging with AI content, and they increasingly choose authentic human creation over AI generation when given the choice.
Your content strategy needs to account for that reality. Use AI where it accelerates human work without replacing human judgment. Disclose appropriately based on content sensitivity and AI involvement level. Maintain quality control that preserves your brand voice.
The middle ground between "ban all AI" and "generate everything with AI" is where most businesses will land. Build systems that work in that middle ground, before your competitors figure it out or regulations force your hand.
